FAQs - Modelling Languages

Q1: Is there no way to add languages present inside the folder “C:\Program Files\Sparx Systems\EA\InternalTechnologies” and Is there any way to create CMMN modeling language as a custom modeling language in Prolaborate?

Answer

It's not possible to import the CMMN modelling language from the Internal Technologies folder, but there is a workaround for this problem. You can create a custom modelling language that includes the facilities and tools such as UML Profiles, code modules, scripts, Patterns, images, Tagged Value Types, report templates, Linked Document templates, and Toolbox pages of the CMMN modelling language.

When creating this custom MDG, you can include the CMMN profile that you have defined. You can also refer to the below video for detailed information,

Please be advised that the CMMN properties are not supported in the Prolaborate's form designer page. Hence you might have to create custom properties in Prolaborate in order to display them on the Form Designer page. You can also refer to the documentation here for more details on configuring stereotypes and custom properties.

Q2: Is there a way to disable the renaming of objects through Prolaborate globally?

Answer

You can chang e the Read/Write access for all Element names via Menu -> Modelling Languages -> General Properties

The changes made in this form designer will be reflected in all elements under the following scenarios.
  1. Stereotype Artifacts without the uploaded MDG in Prolaborate.
  2. The modifications will apply to new MDG profiles created in the future.
  3. The changes will apply to newly uploaded MDGs in Prolaborate.
You can learn more about this feature from the documentation here.

For Existing MDG profiles, you'll need to navigate to the individual stereotypes and change the access to 'Read'. You can learn more about this from the documentation here.
Note: The Open Form Designer option will be displayed in the property window only if the Modeling Language is uploaded in Prolaborate. Otherwise, the option won't be displayed.
