FAQs - Prolaborate Installation

FAQs - Prolaborate Installation

Q1:Can you suggest how we may configure Prolaborate using https and port 443. Do you have any links to documentation?

Answer

You can configure the Protocol and Port settings from Prolaborate Management typically located in C:\Program Files(x86)\Prolaborate\Prolaborate Management. Once you've updated in the Prolaborate Management, you have to update the OIDC table by accessing the Integrated Applications - Access Management page in your Prolaborate. You can learn more about this from our website documentation here

Q7: Will implementing an SSL termination process for traffic to our Prolaborate server, where traffic from the browser passes through an intermediary device performing SSL decryption on port 443 and then forwards unencrypted traffic to the Prolaborate server over port 80, cause any issues with the Prolaborate configuration?

Answer

To ensure seamless operation after implementing the SSL termination, you need to uncheck the HTTPS option in the Prolaborate Management service app. To do that, please follow the steps below:

1.  Navigate to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Prolaboratev4.\ProlaborateManagement

2. Run Prolaborate Management App as an administrator.

3. In the Prolaborate Service Management settings, please uncheck the "Use HTTPS" checkbox. ( refer to the screenshot below)

4. Once the "Use HTTPS" option is unchecked, please restart the Prolaborate service.

This configuration will allow Prolaborate to function properly with SSL termination in place, ensuring a secure and smooth user experience.
