Q1 EA Diagram editor issue
Description
The reported issue from the customer involves updating Diagram Editor from an older version to the latest version, where the user encountered a problem with Enterprise Architect (EA) not starting up. The customer did not have the option to set the EA path during the installation process.
The Steps 3, 4, and 5 mentioned in the document here were not displayed during the installation
Possible Reason
Incorrect/old path of config file.
When multiple versions of EA are detected during an update, the installer may default to selecting the standard installation location. As a result, if users require access to a specific EA version, they might need to manually configure the path.
Remediation
Need to uninstall old diagram editor and reinstall updated diagram editor
Need to change the config file location
Documents updated and the steps 3 ,4 ,5 were displayed upon installation
First response – Troubleshooting Steps

Hi Jo Nijsen,
Thanks for the email.
We have determined that the diagram editor is functioning correctly and the issue was likely caused by the default path to EA that was present in your config file. Please note that our installer will only choose the default installation location when multiple versions of EA are present on a machine.
If you need to open Diagram Editor with a specific EA version, you will need to update the current EA location in the configuration manually.
The config file is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Diagram Editor, and you can find the DiagramEditorConfig.json file there.
Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.
