Q5: How much time needed for the floating license to release license if one user closes the sparx EA?

Answer

If the key store's 'Auto Checkin' option has been enabled and you close all running instances of Enterprise Architect on your workstation, the shared key will be automatically released back into the pool. Administrators also have the option to manually release the key using the Sparx Systems Floating License Configuration Client. To learn more about managing floating keys, please refer to the documentation [here].

Q6:Is it possible to transfer an active PCS License from one machine/server to another?

Answer

Regarding your query about transferring an active PCS License from one machine/server to another, unfortunately, it is not possible. PCS licenses are bound to specific machine IDs. Therefore, attempting to use a license on a different server will not be accepted by the Pro cloud server.

If you are planning to utilize PCS on a new server, please follow the process below:
  1. Submit a CR (Create request) to Sparx Systems HQ(sales@sparxsystems.com) requesting a new PCS license for your intended server.

  2. Once the request is processed, you will receive the new PCS license from HQ, which you can then apply to the new server.
For guidance on creating a CR request for the Pro cloud server, please refer to the document provided here.
