Q1: HTTP error 401 and 401.2 - Unauthorized Access

Description

Customer reported that they installed Prolaborate 3.x freshly in their environment and they had encountered the following error.

Remediation

Enabling the options in IIS to resolve this issue

Possible Reasons

This issue arises when Prolaborate is hosted on IIS. If we do not activate "Forms Authentication" and "Anonymous Authentication" in IIS, it will result in an error in the browser. Therefore, it is necessary to enable these two options in IIS.

First response – Troubleshooting Steps

(This is the initial Mail to the customer)

Hi Customer Name,

Thank you for the email.

Regarding the Prolaborate 401 Unauthorized issue you're facing, We suggest enabling "Forms Authentication" and "Anonymous authentication" in IIS, which should resolve the issue. To do this, please follow the steps below:

Step 1: Open IIS and navigate to the Prolaborate hosted connection.

Step 2: Click on the authentication icon and enable both Forms Authentication and Anonymous Authentication.

Step 3: After enabling these options, restart the Prolaborate server in IIS.

Please follow these steps and let us know if the issue persists or if it has been resolved.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us
